Driver Training Classes

Warren Woods Adult & Community Education is pleased to partner with Premier Driving Academy.

Students must be 14 years, 8 months to enroll in Segment I classes. 

Students must have held a Learner's Permit for at least 3 months PLUS accumulated 30 hours of driving with a licensed driver [including 2 hours of night driving] to enroll in Segment II classes.

How to Register for Classes

1.  Complete online registration form.

2. Pay for the class:

  • Online with credit card, debit card, or check at: http://warrenwoods.misd.net. [Click on PaySchools and follow the instructions.]
  • Cash accepted at the Adult & Community Education office during business hours [8 AM to 3 PM Monday-Friday]. Until further notice, all payments must be made on PaySchools.
  • Payment by check is only available through PaySchools. Payment by check will not be accepted in the office.

3. Bring your birth certificate to the first class of Segment I.

Registrations must be received by the Thursday before the first day of class. If the minimum number of students is not met, the class may be canceled with full refund.  The maximum number of students per class is 35 9.  Please register PRIOR to payment to ensure space is available in the class.

Warren Woods Adult & Community Education is located at 12900 Frazho Road, Warren.  The building is west of Schoenherr on Frazho.  Use Door #1 in the front of the building to access the Adult & Community Education office.

Segment I Schedule of Classes

To begin Segment I of Driver's Education in Michigan, you must:

  • Be at least 14 years and 8 months old.
  • Have permission from your parent or legal guardian.

Dates for Fall 2020 - Cost is $300
 

  • October 5 - 22 (Monday through Thursday)  -  3:00 - 5:00 PM  -  Online class with in-person final test

There are tentative plans for a November class as well. Dates TBA.

Drive time is required in addition to the 24 hours (12 days) of classroom instruction.
Please note that class will be held directly after school on Early Release days.

Minimum class size = 10 virtual students registered by Thursday before first class
Maximum class size = 20 virtual students

All students must comply with the following policies:

  • Individuals must maintain a 6' distance between individuals not in the same household at all times while in the building.
  • Individuals must wear masks at all times while in the driver training vehicle or the building.
  • Individuals must sign-in before the test and complete a screening form. All persons who exhibit symptoms or who have been in close contact with an individual with Covid-19 must be excluded from the drive time and test until certain conditions are met.

Segment II Schedule of Classes

To begin Segment II of Driver's Education in Michigan, you must:

  • Have held a Level 1 Learner's License (learner's permit) for at least 3 months.
  • Have completed at least 30 hours of driving with an approved licensed driver who is at least 21 years old. Of those hours, 2 hours must be done at night.

Dates for Fall 2020 - Cost is $50

  • October 26 - 28  -  3:00 - 5:00 PM - online class with in-person final test
